Honoring the legacy of fallen AP photographer
The 2022 Anja Niedringhaus Courage in Photojournalism Award, named for the Pulitzer Prize-winning AP photographer who was killed reporting in Afghanistan in 2014, has been awarded to Paula Bronstein, a freelance photojournalist currently working in Kyiv.
Global attention for Kabul photo
As the Taliban advanced across Afghanistan over the weekend, an AP photo of a U.S. Chinook helicopter flying over the U.S. Embassy in Kabul on Sunday was featured on numerous front pages around the world.
